"I'd highly recommend this best of to any new fans of the Sisters. The choice of songs is decent and the audio is great. More cow bell would be great though :)"

Good... but could have done without the extended versions of

"I special ordered this album at my local music store and was a little disappointed after listening to it. The album as a whole is good but a few songs have either been extended, remixed or edited. The remixed version of No Time to Cry improves on the original that appeared on First and Last and Always. The edited version of This Corrosion gives the song a better flow, but the extended versions of Vision Thing and Lucretia I find to be unnecesssary. The CD booklet is a fold out that contains the lyrics to all of the 12 songs. One page gives a complete track listing for the albums First and Last and Always, Floodland and Vision Thing as well as photos for each album cover. Here is a review of the album song by song.



UNDER THE GUN: Great song that starts slow and builds towards the end with Terri Nunn repeatedly singing "Are You Living For Love?" over Eldritch's quietly sinister vocals.



TEMPLE OF LOVE (1992): Superior version with Ofra Haza on backing vocals. Runs about 20 seconds longer than the version on Some Girls Wander By Mistake.



VISION THING: The original album version is 4:35, this version is extended to 7:32 and has Eldritch repeating "Bring it on home" and a couple of the verses.



DETONATION BOULEVARD: This is the same version that appears on Vision Thing. A decent song.



DOCTOR JEEP: The weakest song on the album. Edited down to 3 minutes.



MORE: One of the Sisters best. A song that sounds like it has the backing vocals of a church choir.



LUCRETIA MY REFLECTION: The original album version is 4:56, this version is pointlessly extended to 8:43. Nothing knew is added and there are some minor changes with certain parts of the music, the biggest difference being the organ which has been pushed so far into the background that you can't even hear it.



DOMINION/MOTHER RUSSIA: This is the same version that appears on Floodland. Great song.



THIS CORRISION: The original album version is 10:55, this version is slightly edited to 10:17. It's missing the "Hey, hey, hey, a-hey, now, now now now" just before Eldritch begins singing the first verse.



NO TIME TO CRY: A remixed version of the one that appears on First and Last and Always. Superior in that it gives Doktor Avalanche

a more distinct quality to the song. Great remix.



WALK AWAY: This is the same version that appears on First and Last and Always. A decent song.



BODY AND SOUL: The main reason to buy this album is because of this song. Released as a single in 1984 and not available anywhere else on CD.



The running time for this CD is around 74 minutes and the album would have been better if the songs Vision Thing and Lucretia had appeared in their original form. Their also would have been enough run-time left to include more tracks. Since this Greatest Hits compilation mainly covers the years between 1985 and 1990, songs that should have been included are Black Planet, Marian and 1959.
