Album Description

These recordings were specifically done under the guidance of producer Duke Reid in 64 & 66, at the time when Ska was at its pinnacle and when Ska meant Skatalites. The tunes on this release are less jazz and more hard swinging Ska oriented. Recorded at Treasure Isle & West Indies Records studios. Released initially on super rare seven inch singles for various labels. 14 tracks, featuring Baba Brooks, Roland Alphonso & Tommy McCook. Culture Press. 1999.

"Musical Communion features tracks originally recorded in the early and mid-1960's and released under pseudonyms such as "James Bond," "Inez" and "Eastern Standard Time" by different Skatalite members.One of my fave rocking horn sections in all of music consists of Lester Sterling (alto saxophone), Tommy McCook, Roland Alphonso (tenor saxophone), Johnny Moore, Baba Brooks, Rupert Dillon (trumpet) and Don Drummond (trombone).This album should be a must-have for any fan of original recipe ska."
