"what a surprise. After collecting ALL of David Daniels, Andreas Scholl, Dominique Visse, Brian Asawa, etc. countertenor galore this album was a magnificent surprise. Matthew White's voice is pure, beautiful and expressive and the rythm of the celtic and irish airs is so contagious I play it at all times in my car out LOUD and it blows everyone away. The group and its violinist are obviously tremendously talented, but what impressed me is the immediacy of the sounds and rythms and how they would compete favorably with all the modern music and beat that's everywhere. My kids could not believe there was no "electric guitar".The instrumental compositions are poignant and especially the last one composed by the talented violinist. This album deserves to be played everywhere regardless of class of music; being folk music it tells wonderful stories, and played by baroque instruments just makes the whole CD an experience. Both to Skye Consort and Matthew White, a heartfelt Bravo!"
