Quirky & Fun but not as Catchy.

"Skye Sweetnam is on my long list of Guilty Pleasures. I usually have a good time tuning into her music. This one is good but not as catchy as "Noise From The Basement". "Sound Soldier" is a bit more animated in areas and experimental than "Noise From The Basement". Some of the topics are a bit strange like claiming that "Music Is My Boyfriend", Or living life as a "Cartoon". Which both happen to be two of the best tracks on the album. I also love the song "Boy Hunter" which sounds like it samples the bassline from one of Nine-Inch-Nails songs and features Skye's hip-hop counterpart Ak'sent from Inglewood California who's also female. "Boy Hunter" is a girl-power anthem about snatching up boys and having their way with them (What-a-song for someone of this Genre). "Kiss A Girl" also made my headspin a few times, It's a fun song and although it's different from Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" the shock value of a song with such a topic has already been explored and dealt with, we're over it. It's clear to me why Skye's music is so hard to market, because the sound is bubblegum and appeals to a kiddie crowd yet the situations she chooses to discuss are not something that pre-teens or anyone of this music Genre's audience could relate to (in most cases). I adore this chick but This album was sort of a dud."
