"I tell you why. MELODY & AMAZING FLOW. For a ska band these days that's rarirty. To me Slow Gherkin plays a 90's updated version of ska in the way a 90's updated version of ska should be played. I know them personally & for them the tempo is tight, the melody is king & energy is god. I would definately agree with Alternative Press's review of this CD being "the best ska album of '98". I hate ska bands but i love Slow Gherkin."
Good stuff

"This is a pretty good ska album that I recommend if you are into ska. It is very upbeat and has a relatively standard 3rd wave punk ska sound. I recommend Jeffrie's Fan Club's album JFC Sucks...The Early Years if you like this album."
Amazing!

"what a great album. Slow Gherkin follows up their first release(double happiness, which was just as awesome) with "Shed Some Skin." What an album they have created. From the firs song "trapped like a rat in myers flat" to the last "low brow" the catchy guitar solos, and peppy horn riffs, this album is sure to please for years to come. These guys are also very cool, and down to earth people. If you ever get the chance to see them live don't miss it!"
