Though his personal life may have been surrounded by controversy, there's no denying that when Sly was on form, he was mesmerizing. Blending Soul, Pop, Funk, Rock and R&B with lyrics that often confronted the nation's volatile political climate of the times, there was no stopping Sly during the late '60s and early '70s.
