"On their past two albums, the Atlanta-based Poets have started out strong, with powerful Christian rock songs, and then tapered off into this sort of abyss of melancholy, forgettable tunes. Not this time. The first chords of "Any Reason," the album's first song, set the tone for the entire LP. Almost every song on the album has a hard, electric edge, and the lyrics are sophisticated and thoughtful, as we've come to expect from the Poets. Good stuff all the way around."

"If God has ever used a group of gentlemen to positively impact the music industry, the Smalltown Poets are those gentlemen. Their third release on the Forefront, Third Verse will surely be a favorite of yours in no time. A gentle blend of acoustic tones mixed with rocky riffs and respect-demanding drums lines, Third Verse will keep you tapping your foot. Let God use these lovely lyrics to touch your heart. Bless you boys..."
Terrific!

"I bought this album the first day it came out and I love it. There is no way to compare them with anyone else. I just love his voice. The lyrics are beautiful. My favorite song is "Any Other Love". It rings true. Go and buy the album. It is not a waste of time or money."
Best yet

"I gave the last Smalltown Poets a less than glowing review. There were only a few songs on that CD I truly enjoyed (the spoken word intro to "Quasar" made me cringe). THIS time the Poets have hit a homerun. "Third Verse" is a strong CD from start to finish. "Any Other Love" is just a perfect song. It's the best thing they've done. And they certainly know a good song to cover... not once but twice! "The Lust...." and "Beautiful Scandalous Night"... Wow, great taste guys!! If you are looking for good, solid rock with smarts, this is it."

"I had never heard of Smalltown Poets before my friend invited me to join her on a Habitat for Humanity walk where they would be performing. To say that I was impressed by their music would be an understatement. It was one of the most fantastic shows I've ever seen, and their cd has the best of their music. "Beautiful, Scandalous Night" and "100 Billion Watts" are two of my favorite songs with great messages and fabulous music. I highly recommend this cd for anyone with an interest in Christian music!"
