Over the past 44 years Smithfield Fair has built a strong identity for their uncommon original music. The trio of brothers Bob and Dudley-Brian Smith and Dudley's wife, Jan, have become internationally known for their thoroughly unique approach to songwriting on a variety of topics, their warm and close three-part harmony and an immediately recognizable blend of guitars, bass, accordion, mandolin, harmonica, percussion and piano. Jan's reflective piano works are present here on their 31st album, as well as their ability to pull at the heartstrings of listeners with the magic of everyday living and the strength of long-standing love and companionship. The hint of 60s and 70s pop influences are evident among the roots-orientation of folk, gospel. swamp pop, swing, jazz and classical music that is the gumbo of their native Louisiana.
