CD ReviewsThe snakes dbos | Gaston,OR USA | 09/27/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "The Snakes were a new band in 1989 when I first bought this album. With frontman Mike Henderson on guitars, harmonica and vocals, they played a blend of southern roots, blues and rock. This is one of my favorite albums out of the roughly 2000 that I own.The best track on the album was, Love the Poison, a rocker that got airplay on AOR stations of the day.Other memorable songs on the album are,32/20,a funky blues rocker with great guitar and vocals and a hard driving beat by drummer James Stroud.Ain't No Crime,a rocker with some great harmonica.Daddy's Got to Ride, another great song with driving guitar.I could go on and on.There are no bad songs on this album. The Snakes are another band in a long line that should have reached stardom, such as King Swamp and Flies on Fire to name a couple. The Snakes later became Mike henderson and the Bluebloods and continued to put out great music. When Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits seen them live,he said"I was in my kind of heaven. Here were some men I wanted to play music with".I couldn't agree with him more.If you buy some of their music, you will not be dissapointed."
