What a pleasant surprise

"I purchased this CD from Amazon thinking that it had been produced by Greg Leisz and not knowing anything else about the record. Well he didn't produce it, but he did play pedal steel on one track (and co-wrote most of the songs). It doesn't matter because Snow & Voices have become an instant hit with me.
Think Cowboy Junkies fronted by Lori Carson and you will get a pretty fair approximation of their approach--a traditional sense of songwriting executed to virtual perfection. I defy you not to like the vocal style of Lauri Kranz. In addition to Carson, even my untrained ear detected elements of other superb pop singers--Mae Moore, Lynn Canfield (Moon Seven Times) and especially Julie Cruise, just to name a few. But by the end of the album I came to the conclusion that Lauri Kranz is a unique, and had the good fortune to be discovered and supported by the other terrific musicians in Snow & Voices.
Like Joe Bob said, "Check 'em out".
