CD ReviewsAbout Time to Give the Man The Credit He Deserves! mobby_uk | London United Kingdom | 04/23/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Snowy White is one of the best guitarists in Rock history, and certainly the most underrated today.
The man has a very impressive CV to say the least. Playing with Thin Lizzy, Peter Green, and being chosen by Roger Waters to take Gilmour's leads in The Wall Berlin Concert did not happen by chance! But Snowy White is no session guitarist, he is rather a very talented song writer in his own right, writing songs that alternate between blues, ballads, and melodic symphonic rock, with his great solos throughout. He was made famous earlier in his solo career by one beautiful song, Bird Of Paradise, from his White Flame album, but all his output since has been great. The self titled Snowy White with classic tracks such as Land of Freedom and Fortune is in my opinion a must for all serious music lovers and my personal best, Keep Out we're Toxic comes close second and is a very powerful album indeed. The title track stands out, and is a mind blowing epic with his trademark solo, but all the songs, from the bluesy to the slightly funky to the ballads are classics. What distinguishes Snowy White from other Guitarists/Song Writers is his warm voice, and his talent at writing songs that are quite original. This artist should finally receive his dues." |
