"I started listening to Society's Finest when I heard they had an ex-Zao member. Seeing as how I love Zao, I was intrigued to hear from a band who could possibly somehow amount to their greatness.
Needless to say, I am thoroughly impressed with Society's Finest.
This is a very well put together cd. In fact, I'd venture to say that I haven't heard a cd with great guitar, drums, screaming, and bass all together in a loooong time.
The guitar is technical and isn't just dull rhythms and melodys over and over, the drums aren't a single beat repeated throughout the entire cd, and you can actually distinguish the bass from the guitar on this cd (which has recently become quite rare to hear).Plus, the screamer sounds like he belongs in this type of band, not like some whiny little kid crying for attention like, oh I don't know, Hawthorne Heights? Although that is an unfair comparison, seeing as Society's Finest are in the metal genre and HH is just, well, [...]
Overall, this is truly an amazing cd that I recommend to anyone who listens to bands like He Is Legend, As I Lay Dying, Atreyu, dare I say Zao, or any other good music in general.
And if you want to say oh, I like hard music, but none of those bands, then you are ridiculous and don't deserve to hear an amazing band like this anyway.
And so you may understand how good they are a little more, I listen to everything from Bright Eyes and Death Cab For Cutie, to Children of Bodom and Dragonforce, to Rancid and The Casualties, to Red Hot Chili Peppers and System of a Down. This band is still good and appeals to me so if you're stuck on genres, then swallow your pride, get over yourself, and go out and get this cd."
