"Is it Solarstone, or Solar Stone? I've seen it more as two words, but here it's one word so maybe that is the right way. Anyway, if you are familiar with the Baeleric trance duo known as Solarstone, you know they are an expert at selecting, re-editing, and putting out some of the best trance of their own. Some of you may recall their Chill Out Euphoria CD, which brought chill/ambient trance to a whole new level, splicing and meshing their own sounds with re-edits of nearly every track. They also mixed disc 2 of the 1st Lost Language Exhibition CD mix, which is well worth finding if you don't have it already.



Again, they turn to their editing and mixing skills and come up with a very fresh sounding 2 disc set. Even if you see a track you've heard for months on here, it will sound refreshed, as they've had a hand in tweaking probably every track on here. I had heard Ronski Speed's 2Day a little too much lately, but managed to WANT to hear it all the way through again in this mix, just because it's amazing how Solarstone can spruce it up with just some slight re-editing. You'll also hear slight elements of some tracks, up to two tracks prior, before getting to that track full force.



You get a solid mix of some vocal trance, Balaeric trance, melodic trance, and some high energy stuff. I found disc 2 to be more solid all the way through, but you really can't go wrong or find a bad spot on either of these discs. I'm going with 4 stars because disc 1, although expertly mixed, just didn't have a good flow from top to bottom."

"I am a trance DJ and basically spend vast amounts of my life listening to and mixing Trance and Prog House, and over the years I have had a few Solar Stone mixes/remixes cross my path and I always had a mental note that they seemed to align with my taste in music, which is progressive and euphoric electronic dance music. I randomly picked this up without any recommendations and I have to say that this has been in my stereo at home for the past month non-stop, almost exclusively. Very solid throughout both CD's. Seriously enjoyable! I am so sick of buying mix after mix of the big guys and liking only 2 or 3 songs out of a 2-CD mix!!! It is refreshing to see that at least some DJ's out there haven't sold out and are maintaining their musical integrity to play songs they actually enjoy rather than songs their label tells them to play. If you like this, I also recommend: Anjunabeats: "Vol 1","Vol 2","Vol 3",& "Vol 4", "Anjunabeats Worldwide", and soon to be released: "Anjunabeats Vol 5", "Mondo Sessions 001" Mixed by Darren Tate and Mike Koglin (AMAZING!!!), Ferry Corsten's "Passport: Kingdom of the Netherlands" and Armin van Buuren Yearmix 2006. In my opinion, these are the absolute best trance collections put out in the past 5 years."

"This is, hands down, the best trance album of the year. It is possibly the best of all time. I'm comparing this to Markus Schulz Miami '05, AvB's ASOT '05 and '06 and even back to some greats like Magik 6 and Summerbreeze. The entire thing is expertly mixed "ableton style" like fundacion was. I didn't like fundacion at all but Sasha mixed it better than any album that has ever been mixed before. The "ableton style" is mixing and reworking every track to the point where you can hear elements of tracks 2, 3, 4 or, in the case of Way Out West's "Killa" on disc one, you can hear the intro strings FIVE tracks before the track comes on. Skipping tracks on this compilation is a slight against god...and frankly gets confusing because of how extraordinarily deep the tracks are mixed. If you are into trance and know what good music is, you cannot miss this album. I'm holding this up with my all time favs along with Sasha's 'Involver', AvB's 'ASOT '05' and '06' and Tiesto's 'Magik 6', 'ISOS 3' and 'Summerbreeze'."
