"Finally Mr. Barto has allowed us all to enjoy the sequestered beauty of this simply beautifully sounding yet punnishingly difficult music.Anyone who enjoys the empfindsam stil ie. Friedmann and Carl Phillip Bach (sorry, their dad was a great teacher but... )should buy this disc. If you think a clavichord gives the performer ultimate control you haven't heard control until you've heard Mr. Barto's fingers on 13 pair of finely tuned chunks of twisted sheep flesh.( No blood, just guts) He has a good feel for the phrasing and timing that is at the core of this communication, although he does not, at times, linger quite long enough on the appogiaturas.(Emannuel Bach said that the dissonant note should last at least half the note value) Over all, this is a great performance of some amazing music."
