As good as Mozart chamber music gets...

"A marvelous introduction to Mozart, his chamber music and, of course, his violin sonatas. The performances are beautiful. (Oistrakh lives on for another generation!) And the price... enough said. Vox, that wonderful budget label, you've done it again -- quality performances of great music at humane prices!"
Igor's good, but he's no David

"Igor's a fine violinist, but he doesn't quite have his father's power and refinement. His accompanist likewise is fine, but not exceptional. The recording is clear but close-miked and a bit dry. These are good, solid renditions of the Mozart sonatas, and a good bargain at this price. But they're nothing more than that. The best recordings of these sonatas are still the Szell/Druian (sadly out of print) and Haskil/Grumiaux."
