Super Talented Band but Bad Sound Quality

"Lots of super fast guitar playing and great drumming on rock jam after rock jam. You feel like your in a backstreet bar with a great band. However the sound quality is really bad, especially on the vocals. In fact it is so bad, I can't tell if the singer is not very talented vocally or if its just the bad sound engineering, or the poor acoustics of the second chance. Luckily most songs are mostly instrumental anyway. Earthy starts out great and then the experience is ruined when the vocals come in. Cool Breeze is a great song as are many others on this album. With mostly fast jams, some start to sound alike. This is the kind of album you wish you could hear once for free to see what the band was like. Too bad they never recorded a studio album, as they were super talented. If your a fan from back in the day then I'm sure this will tickle your fancy. If your just tryin to find good music then I would say you'll hear it here but be forewarned it is definately somewaht ruined by the bad sound quality of the live recording. If you're expecting to hear MC5, forget it, the sound quality makes this record fall far short of the MC5 albums. In some moods I take this out and enjoy it. The energy is so high you can get neck injuries from the frantic head bangin, and if your lethargic this should speed the heart up considerably. In conclusion I would say its a good buy if the price is less than $10."

"It's been decades since this show was recorded at the Second Chance, but the music resonates like it were played last night. Sonic's Rendezvous Band is the greatest Detroit band since the Stooges and MC5, and the band includes members of both, plus the Rationals and UP! You know you need it! Buy It! Now!"
