"You would think that a worldbeat album whose instrumental components include didgeridoo, dumbek, keyboards, guitar, tablas, sarangi, bass, and vocals would be substantial, and in many cases you'd be right. Not this one, though. The first three tracks are great--flavorful worldbeat that does what you'd think it should. But after that, the album gets weaker by the track. Shmaltz replaces invention, and by the last tune, I had heard more than enough. This is really a shame, because the potential is definitely there for these guys to be substantially better than they reveal on most of this album. For 15 1/2 minutes, they cook. Then the fire goes out and they just kinda sit there.Your call."

"I absolutely love the combo of flute, didj and hand drums. One of the other reviewers says the first three tracks are stronger than the rest, and after re-listening I might agree... but none of the tracks are bad and the first three would be worth the price if that's all there was!"

"If your looking for something to transport you to an exotic and relaxing journey this CD is for you. The Middle East and Outback flavors are perfectly blend together. The vocal styling is uplifting. If you like the music of Cirque du Soleil, Sonic Tribe will bring to you the same sound and style almost perfectly."

"Don't let 'em fool you, this is really Dean Evenson, Scott Huckabay, et al., performing as an ensemble. What spontaneous and fun music!! Mr. Evenson is one of the pioneers of music who created some classic CDs with flute and natural sounds. Scott Huckabay is simply one of the most sensational guitarists you may ever get the opportunity to hear. Ever. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I really didn't care for the vocal stylings on one of the cuts. Other than that it is a fantastic holiday for the ears. If you are in the Pacific Northwest try and catch the group, or Scott Huckbay in concert. you will not be disappointed. If you do not already own the soloreleases by Scott Huckbay, especially Peace Dance, there is only one question:"Why Not?""
