"This is a wonderful psychadelic jazz album, three great women singers and a crack backing band. The music ranges from My Favorate Things (Picture Coltrane's sax replaced by three saprano vocalists) layers of wordless scatting and lots of late 60s "Whoops and Pooyah's" straight out of Hair.
Brilliant arranger Oliver Nelson did the charts for this record, and it is possibly the most daring work in his distography. The the musical spirit is absoulutely jazz, but this album has the energy of a rock album, with lots of avant-garde elements.
Quality throughout and not a disc to miss.
