"Directo" in your face

""Directo" is the Official S.A's Live album. recorded in Madrid and Basque country in 1998 it is the proof of how good this veteran band can be on stage.
S.A is a Basque band, their members have been together for more than a decade, they are one of the most brutal bands from Spain and their albums gravitate around Metal but also borrow influences from Hard-Core, Trash and Punk music. Politically and socially compromised, their lyrics (sang in Spanish) deal with the long lasting conflict regarding the Basque independence from Spain, they also talk about political interests, how media manipulates information and how society lacks of values while falling into alienation and oblivion.
This Live album has a pretty good production and consequently a great sound, the chosen songs work great live and expand from the band's early days to their then most recent material. Right from the start, when they kick off with "Palomas y Buitres" the band sounds like a well oiled machine. Along the concert they play a couple of covers (including a mini tribute to Bob Marley) and a never released before track. The CD timing is the exact one and by the time they wrap with "Nos vimos en Berlín" (a brutal and fast song about revenge in a World War 2 context)S.A has proved that it is Live when their music has more energy.
This CD can be a good stepping stone for anyone who wants to get into Soziedad Alkoholika and of course it is a must for any fan of the band, hopefully we will have a second "Directo" in a few years with songs from their most recent albums, till then we will crank up this "directo". Enjoy"
