"But its cheap used. This is one of the best albums of the last decade...not a mild compliment. Somehow Cornershop got all the credit for this kind of quirky sampling and mixing it up. Space has an even better sense of humor...and are ready to totally pimp themselves out by doing a clubby goof-off song (Growler). My cd is worn down to the level of wafer thin. A disc that separates the tasteful from the tasteless (or just those who think they have taste).Obtain, utilize, and be fruitful."
A lucious brit-pop altered state...

"This CD is a vacation to a weirder, hipper, darker world... one with tarantulas in the bathtub, peculiar neighbors, and freaky vibes that are given a soundtrack by Space. Similar to They Might Be Giants in this regard, you have to just sit back and take a trip into these guys minds and come back wondering where your luggage went. The lyrics give you a Zen release from reality, and the music is with you all the way, somehow making electronica, lounge, and brit-pop all a seamless part of the day-trip. Like Thomas Dolby or TMBG, Space takes convention and lulls you in with a slightly off-mainstream sound and then turns it all on its head. If you want to get away from it all for awhile, this is a must-have."
Nice one, lads. However...

"Space's Spiders can be really great- Only if you have every other British 1990's classic (Radiohead, Blur, Suede, Pulp etceteras) & want a tad more of it. This is due to the fact that many of the tracks here were following the precise same blueprint of the aforementioned bands ("Me & You Vs. The World" & "Mister Psycho" could perfectly fit in Blur's The Great Escape, whilst the guitarriff on "Kill Me" sounds suspiciously similar to the one used on the Radiohead classic "My Iron Lung"). Regardless of that these three songs are really great, just as the grotesque "Neighbourhood", the exotic "Female Of The Species", the irresistible "Lovechild Of The Queen", the dancy "Growler" & the eerie, unlisted titletrack. Worth a listen, but don't expect anything pristine."
