"I have had this album for a while and as a long-time amateur classical guitar player, I can vouch for the fact that your money will be well-spent.
First of all it's got all the perennial favorites of Classical Guitar, such as Recuerdos De La Alhambra, Capricho Arabe, Asturias. On top of that Lendle's rendition of them are sublime.
Madronos and Estudio Sin Luz are my favorite renditions on the album.
There are some places where he's gone a little showboatesque. For example, Capricho Arabe is a little too fast and he goes crazy at the end banging that bass, I prefer them more subtle. It is still something to hear though, Lendle dancing on those strings at light-speed and not missing a beat.
It is quite sad to me that Classical Guitar gets none of the respect that its electrical or accoustical relatives get. Classical Guitar is a little orchestra by itself and it has a really rewarding learning curve, perfect for youngsters of any age. Your kid hasn't missed the chance of becoming a virtuoso since he's not 4 anymore.
I would be very surprised if somebody bought this album and didn't fall in love with classical guitar. Lendle is a true artist."
