The band started its career by releasing a number of self-produced CDs. In mid-2000, Spare Lead signed with New School Records, then released debut album Secluded in mid-2001. After its release, the members found themselves frequently touring the West Coast, sharing the stage with familiar acts such as Good Riddance, Death By Stereo, and The Casualties while achieving venue sales of over 2,500 units. Even though a number of years have passed, Spare Lead continues to tour regularly and write new music.
