"This CD is smokin'! Robert Walter puts an all star session together here, and lets loose. Most of these tunes could pass as actually being from the era that the title refers to. "Bidi Man" in particular sounds like a mix between the 'Welcome Back Kotter' theme, and the anthem from 'The Cosby Show.' With covers of Miles Davis, and Jimi Hendrix, this album covers a wide spectrum of material, and turns it funky. If you like to dance in your seat, or out on the floor, this'll do the trick."

"After reviewing many Greyboy albums and hearing of the eventual "parting of the ways" of the members of the Greyboy Allstars, I had the oppurtunity last night to see Robert Walter (the former keyboardist of the Allstars) with his new group, the 20th Congress, play at the 400 Bar in downtown Minneapolis. Without a doubt, it was the single greatest exhibition of musical talent and timing that I have ever witnessed in a live venue.I am absolutly in reverance over this quartet, and the people in the same place I was in will agree with me 100%! I am hooked, and this town will never be the same after last night! You cannot afford to miss this group! This CD is a must have, and you will not regret it!"
Don't get TOO excited.

"I had to take a star away because this disc doesn't even come close to The GBA's West Coast Boogaloo which, in my humble opinion, is the finest work of each of the musicians on that album. A lot of you may not agree, but A Town Called Earth and KDTU's stuff do not have the same strength in melody. Maybe some will agree with that. Thing is, after reading the reviews I immediately called around until I found this thing and went and bought it, hoping it would have some of the melodic magic that I know these guys are capable of. Honestly, I was a little disappointed."
What a shame this is out of print...........................

".....and after only 7 years. I searched high and low for this one and finally found it. Let me start by saying that the Greyboy Allstars are/were the greatest jazz band of my generation (the 30 somethings). They take everything I love about clasic old-school soul jazz and multiply it times 10. I know this has Robert Walter's name on it, but all the G.B.A's are on this funky funky album-not to mention the legendary Gary Bartz. This is great from beginning to end- I listen to it over & over. If you are into funky-boogalo, soul-jazz from the 60's & 70's or you're a fan of the Allstar's and you run across this grab it while you can- ya dig?"
