So underrated, it hurts...

"In the pluralist and often mediocre realm of concept albums, "Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus" truly holds its own. Akin to Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys and close stylistically to the Who's Tommy, Dr. Sardonicus has several excellent songs which effortlessly blend into each other. Notable in the band is Randy CAlifornia, who sounds like Hendrix weaned on jazz. All the compositions are superb and funky, from the rocking opener Nothin' to Hide to the Coltrane-influenced Street Worm to the ponderous Soldier. Every song is a gem, and this album is certainly not to be missed by ANY fan of Sixties rock."
