"I have listening to Big Band Music since I was about 4 years old (my father hosted a jazz programe on the radio) but I have always prefered the original bands to the newer bands playing the old tunes. Well I still prefer the originals (nobody plays Miller as well as Miller!) but this band is the best new band I have heard. The arrangements are close enough to the original sound without being just another blatent copy with players who play well but don't quite get that original feel. This is instead a great band who play extremely well in the style and yet the arrangements are individual enough not to be a direct copy, yet original enough to bring back all those wonderful memories that the Big Band era is all about. If you like (or love) big band music, you will be impressed by this disc. I heartily recommend it."
If you are old like me, you can remember the good ol' days..

"Do you ever think of the hay day of the big bands, when Glenn, Tommey, Benny at el where playing in your local town? Did you try to see how many dances you could go before becoming winded? Well this cd will help you, if you will let it, relive those golden days of the big band. For this particular cd, the Spitfire Band puts on a good show. They play a lot of my favorite songs. Their arrangements are what I think the big bands should soound like. WONDERFULI think this kind of music is on the rebound. I hope more bands will try to start playing this kind of music. Maybe the dances of the 40's will come back. I sure hope so!I Would Like To Recommend This Cd"
A new band with great potential.

"As a piano player for a big (dance) band in the 40's and
50's, this is one of the greatest CDs to come out. I
can highly recomend it to anyone with big band
asperatons.

"If you love the big band sounds of the 40's and 50's, you can't miss on this one. The arrangements are true to history, except that some cuts have been shortened, probably for time. Otherwise, they sound just as Miller, the Dorseys, Goodman and others recorded them, except minus the popcorn and noise."
