A First Rate Introduction to the Harpsichord

"Not that many "sampler" recordings are equally pleasing to the connoisseur and the curious alike. This one is. Ed Parmentier plays a varied selection of the most appealing pieces from the harpsichord literature on several fine instruments. The sound quality, as with all recordings on the Wildboar label, is excellent. Parmentier's performance is in the finest taste and yet is completely accessible to the beginning listener. If someone who had never heard a harpsichord were to ask me what recording to buy, I wouldn't hesitate a moment to recommend this one. And yet, even though I own several hundred harpsichord recordings, I never tire of listening to it."
