"Stacy Lattisaw has a wonderful voice and I enjoy all of her cds so therefore I would reccommend to get all of them because she sings so well and the words are clear and her voice is so nice and angellic this was a truly great singer who deserved a lot more recognition that she had received!!!!"

A forgotten princess worthy of a second look

"The pop graveyard is littered with the once famous and now forgotten. Lattisaw deserves more. For a short while in the early 80's, she, with her youthful exuberance and cute looks, had a slew of R & B/pop hits. "What You Need", produced during the end of the decade, tried to present her as a more mature and determined young woman. A natural progression from ingénue to adult, the album is divided into two sections: the first five tracks being dance cuts and the last half slowing the tempo down with the ballads. Among the ballads is the hit "Where Do We Go From Here", the hit duet featuring fellow label mate Johnny Gill. This is, without a doubt, the strongest track among the whole set. If Motown had been thinking, the pairing of these two would have made for a lengthy and profitable relationship for all parties concerned."
