CD Reviews

Fr. Stan and his music are A gift from the Lord!

"At the Catholic Youth Organizations convention in December 1999 I was given the privelege to meet and hear Fr. Stan Evangelize and bring each and every person at that convention to the Lord. Before this convention I had the Screename Kumbaya--(Not for any particular reason) but after this weekend Fr. Stan gave it a whole new meaning. I bought Sacro-song that weekend and it was love at first sight! Fr. Stan has been given a gift from the Lord and he is using it in all the right ways. "Never been born" actually drove me to tears. I believe it is all of the aborted children of the world singing through Father Stan. Where I live God is not at the top of everyones priority list but when I let a few people listen to this they were kissed by the Lord. When I was at school I told some of the too cool people to listen to this phat new hip hop album I got. They listened to it (ofcourse ignoring all of the spiritually impacting lyrics) and were like aww this is good who is the rapper?---After I told them it was a Franciscan Friar they were shocked. Father Stan is a manifestaion of divine beauty and if I could afford it I would buy this and all of his other great albums for everyone that I know. I hope you all get a chance to listen to it! May God Bless you!:) Erin"
The Holy Spirit's work in Fr Stan's CD can STOP 'Columbines'

"Getting secular media to interview a Christian rapper, especially a Franciscan priest, sometimes requires Divine Intervention. The fact that more than a dozen New Zealand media interviewed Fr Stan in April, just after the tragedy in Columbine High School, was an example of Our Lord bring good from evil.Fr Stan had given a retreat to Columbine students just before the massacre. If only the troubled, angry loners and every other student had listened to Sacro Songs - who's to say what might have happened. The former professional jazz singer's lyrics are enormously powerful. They hit you between the eyes or square in the heart (like on Kumbya, where the culture of death and suicide gives way to the power of Christ.) They gladden your hearts (like F-A-M-I-L-Y; Forget About Me, I Love You). They call a spade a spade (Zipper Zone). They are full of truth, love and HEALING even from the awful pain of abortion (Never Been Born). And they are so unique you will play them and play them and PRAY THEM. Fr Stan's voice - a cross between an angel, Stevie Wonder and, who else? Who knows? He is unique and an enormous blessing to a world lost in a culture of negative media and death. If you like rap but hate pain and violence, this is your CD. If you want to help someone lost in the darkness of heavy metal or rap, give them Sacro Songs. And as Fr Stan sings, pray, pray, pray. The man has given his life to working with the poorest of the poor in the Bronx. All Christians can support his holy mission by buying his CD. And YOU can change lives by listening to it and by giving it. It is that powerful.Praise God! Thank you Fr Stan."
"Never Been Born" Rocks!

"I found Fr. Stan awesome enough hearing him preach, but then I got to hear his music- the PRO-LIFE (and I'm not afraid to say it) song Never Been Born is actually great! It's sung from the point of view of an aborted child in heaven, warning his parents they were wrong, but forgiving them, and pleading for them to turn to God!It's the sort of thing they would never allow to be played (unfortunately) on the secular rock (or rap) stations. And that means it's good."
