"I first heard Rebecca Kilgore on Terri Gross' NPR program "Fresh Air" during a Hoagy Carmichael tribute. She and Dave Frishberg were the featured live-in-studio performers, and they were stunning. Frishberg is famous, of course, as a composer, pianist, and singer - he has a long and distinguished discography and he sounds terrific here, as always. The find, therefore, is Kilgore. And WHAT a find! The liner notes indicate that she didn't even begin to sing in public until she was considerably older than some of the most talked-about current retro-divas. They could all learn a thing or two from her about timing, phrasing, pitch, tune selection... and how to remain true to a song while making it come to life. She is one of the very finest singers recording today. In short, this is a wonderful CD. Buy it - you will not be disappointed."

"Rebecca Kilgore opens her mouth and out come wonderful sweet sounds. Dave Frishberg just swings. The combination is a match made in jazz heaven. This is for anyone who loves musical music."
