"I am not wild about dance artists taking rock songs and remaking them into dance songs. See Casual Sweater's awful remix of No Doubt's "Don't Speak". One of the few dance remakes that I actually enjoy is Stars on 54's remake of the Gordon Lightfoot song "If You Could Read My Mind" which features Ultra Nate, Amber, and Jocelyn Enriquez. I loved that song back when I loved hi-nrg music and I still love this song to this very day despite my changing tastes in music. My particular favorite mix on the single is the Hex Hector Club Mix. I like how Hex Hector doesn't ruin the melody of the song while expanding the beats. A lot of producers unfortunately has a tendency to ruin a good dance song but destroying the melody but not Hex Hector. He does a great job remixing "If You Could Read My Mind". The original club mix is good but I definitely prefer the Hex Hector mix. Six years after this song first came out, the song surprisingly still holds up well (unlike "Barbie Girl" and "Blue (Da Ba Dee)", two atrocious songs that were once good but eventually turned into annoying, disposable pop songs). All three women do a great job singing. They don't try to oversing each other's vocals like the Pink, Christina Aguilera, Mya, and Lil' Kim did for that awful remake of "Lady Marmalade"."
