CD ReviewsAnother lead singer and a welcome infusion of attitude. D. Knouse | vancouver, washington United States | 10/30/2007 (4 out of 5 stars) "4.5 stars. I am pleasantly surprised that Steel Attack have infused their Power Metal stylings with a straight-ahead, attitude-driven Heavy Metal barrage; especially after their utterly predictable and stale-sounding third release, "Predator of the Empire". The lyrical content on "Enslaved" is also religious/philosophical, instead of the typically boring, Power Metal tripe swords and sorcery nonsense that frequently embarasses the genre as a whole. "Enslaved" introduces Steel Attack's third lead singer in four albums and the new guy is a presence with charisma and much more range than the generic fellow from their forgettable third album. The speed is back, as well. Amen! "Predator..." was mostly mid-tempo and was almost devoid of the flashy guitar work that got me into this band initially. While I still consider their second release, "Fall Into Madness", to be their untouchable masterpiece, there is a lot of shredding and soloing on "Enslaved" that reminds me why I fell in love with Steel Attack in the first place. "Fall Into Madness" is the place to begin for initiates, but "Enslaved" is certainly a worthy follow-up purchase."
