"It seams like the Italian Jazz scene just produces great talent in droves.Stefano Di Battista is no exception. Now I am ambivalent about Terrason since his M-Base impulses and not knowing what direction he himself wants to go is a problem but here he is playing fine.Bonaccorso is a fine bassist and this is a of course one of the last recordings by Elvin who is still in fine form. But Battista deserves the Blue Note contract and exposure because he is a just that good. Now this may not be the best effort of his (I am going to get more) but here you get:
1.Elvin's Song
2.Johnny's Time
3. Nico's Dream
4. Your Romance
5. Little Red Ribbon - Stefano di Battista, Terrasson, Jacky
6. Adderley
7. Hall
8. Song for Flavia - Stefano di Battista, Bonaccorso, Rosario
9. Time for a Solo
10. Anastasia
11. Chicago 1987 - Stefano Di Battista, Terrasson, Jacky
It's a fine effort. Not sure why so many are used at such a low price (compared to his other Blue Notes) but hey at this price your paying nothing.Looking forward to more from this incredible talent.
