Product DescriptionDigitmovies is proud to present the sixth volume devoted to the Italian police movies genre releasing for the first time the complete and full stereo OST by Stelvio Cipriani from the movie "Poliziotto senza paura" (aka "Magnum cop") directed in 1977 by Stelvio Massi and starring Maurizio Merli, Joan Collins, Gastone Moschin, Annarita Grapputo. The movie tells the story of detective Spada (Merli), Roman private eye entrusted by his Vienna colleague Karl Koper (Moschin) to find the young Annelise Von Stradel (Grapputo), daughter of a rich Austrian banker, who in Rome joins a Buddhistic community. During the investigations, that bring the cop to discover a mysterious baby-prostitution racket, Spada meets the beautiful nightclub dancer Brigitte (Collins). With his unique style, Stelvio Cipriani accompanies the adventures of the fearless cop with alternative action themes and romantic motifs: Main Titles (Tr.1), peacefully introduced with synth and bell effects, develops a rhythmical motif with electric guitars and percussions reprised later in the Finale (Tr.22), disco music (Tr.3,Tr.17), Lounge style Bossa music (Tr.6), music for Brigitte's Striptease in the nightclub (Tr.13), chase music (Tr.11,Tr.20) and mysterious atmospheres (Tr.8,Tr.10,Tr.18). The sad and romantic side of the story is emphasized by intense strings passages that one more time reveal the melodic vein of the composer (Tr.2,Tr.12,Tr.15,Tr.16,Tr.19,Tr.21). As bonus tracks we release for the first time on record the complete OST in mono by Stelvio Cipriani from the movie "Sbirro,la tua legge ? lenta.la mia no!" (aka "Hunted City", "La cit? du crime") directed in 1979 by Stelvio Massi and starring Maurizio Merli, Mario Merola, Francisco Rabal, Carmen Scarpitta. The movie tells the story of investigator Paolo Ferro (Merli), expert in fighting against the mafia, who is being sent into a mission to Milan to find out the mystery of a series of murders of financiers and lawyers supposedly done by the Sicilian criminal organization. Ferro is persuaded that somebody else is the true murderer. An old mobster, Don Alfonso (Rabal), who is very fond of Ferro, confirms that he is right. Ferro suspects that former camorrist Raffaele Acampora (Merola), now owner of restaurants, is responsible for all those crimes. At the end Don Alfonso will be the one to make justice with killing the dangerous bandit. Stelvio Cipriani composed a nostalgic and rhythmic main theme (Tr.23), reprised later in diverse styles: bossa (Tr.25), suspense (Tr.27) and action (Tr.24,Tr.26,Tr.29). MøCipriani also composed a popular flavoured theme to describe the fight between the Mafia and camorra characters (Tr.28,Tr.21). The CD closes with a final reprise of the popular theme and the main theme (Tr.31). The noted bravura of Stelvio Cipriani as piano soloist is represented in both OSTs in Tr.4 e Tr.30. Our Cd, with a total length of 73:23, was made possible thanks to the stereo and mono mastertapes that have been kept in the historic vaults of RCA until today.
