Micus in transition

""Listen to the Rain," from 1983, can be considered a transition album between Micus's early explorations and his later better-focussed, and more emotionally intense, releases. It is also his sparsest production, with three of the four tracks constituting simple duets. Further, one might think of it as being his "guitar album," since steel string and Spanish guitars are featured in each cut. This album comes very close to measuring up to his last fifteen years of releases and is again easy to recommend for its spiritual and emotional clarity, and unique brand of directness of communication and sincerity. So why not give this CD a "5," you ask?--Because this artist has produced several other releases that I think are, even so, clearly better."
