Album DescriptionIn October, 1991 four nights of jazz concerts were held in Warsaw, Poland as part of a 30-year-old tradition, Jazz Jamboree. The venue selected was the Operetka House, essentially an old wood structure in downtown Warsaw. The sound, however, was resinate in the ornate hall and many of the jazz artists that performed over the four-day period commented on the incredible acoustics. This recording was made in those surroundings, with two world class jazz musicians, Stephane Grappelli and McCoy Tyner. The concert was cited by the Polish press as being, "the greatest cultural event in the history of Polish jazz." The quality of the rich, warm sound is only surpassed by the quality of the superb performances of Stephane Grappelli, Marc Fosset, Jean Philipe Viret, and McCoy Tyner. At the moment the final chords were struck there was a roar of applause from the audience, which turned into a 10-minute standing ovation for these very talented musicians. Now with the quality of pure digital sound, you too can sit back and enjoy the experience of Stephane Grappelli with McCoy Tyner live at the Operetka House in Warsaw, Poland.
