Stephen Clair is a songwriter with stories worth telling. His self-released 2003 CD, the acclaimed Little Radio, made serious waves. Now, Clair returns with the literate and graceful Under the Bed. In the last couple of years, Clair has conquered more stages and won many hearts while touring around the country as a headliner in small clubs and as support for the likes of Paul Thorn, Vic Chesnutt, James McMurtry, The Silos, The Gourds, Richard Buckner, Lucy Kaplansky and other fine folks. The tightly written songs on this record are driven by Clairâ??s keen narrative sense. Helping him shape this organic musical landscape are folks like co-producer Simon Austin of the Australian band Frente!, drummer Ian Stynes, bass player Keith Christopher (Billy Joe Shaver, The Yayhoos), and lap steel player Drew Glackin (The Silos) and many other special guests.
