"Guitarrist Stever Hackett, after he left Genesis in mid-1977 has left a very rich solo musical legacy, which continues to grow every year. Within his works, three classical guitar albums stand out: this one, "Momentum" and "There are many sides to the night." The two first were recorded in studio, and the latter was recorded live. But "Bay of Kings" has been, in my opinion, Hackett's most incredible musical accomplishment so far, including both his works done using electric guitar and classical guitar. You'll be delighted to discover in the album a new rendering of the beautiful 1972 Genesis song (composed by Hackett) "Horizons," but it's only part of a grandieuse masterpiece made up of 15 compositions of a beauty that takes time to find elsewhere. If you have a chance to listen to "Kim" or "Blacklight" you'll be able to easily understand what I mean.Note: the original release of the album, in 1983, included only the first twelve songs. This version added three more tracks to complement an already perfect work."

"This one is strictly classical guitar. If you like Hackett's harder and more progressive music only, this is not for you. But if you appreciate original compositions for classical guitar played by a master at his instrument, this is it.Hackett proves once again that he is far from one (or even two) dimensional. There are Many Sides to Hackett and he proves it once again with Bay of Kings. For a very nice companion CD to make this a 2fer, also get Momentum. I have them both and they are really nice to play as one long set.Happy listening ..."
Excellent.

"Superb acoustical work from the heart and soul of an extraordinary musician. This would not surprise any Genesis or Hackett fan, since he was one of the musical brains of that group during its best era, around the seventies.
Every early Genesis fans would love Hackett solo works, for he followed the proggresive path the band opened since ¨Selling England by the Pound¨
This imported edition has CD-ROM capabilities with a bunch of information and several mp3 tracks. Don't miss it!"
