Synopsis
Album Description The third solo album from the Toto guitarist and singer where "Luke" gets the heaviness out of his system, since he has to put the reigns on his metallic inclinations in the context of his day job. Lukather once again demostrates his monstrous talent with an outstanding set of songs and musicianship. It ain't Toto for sure, but if you are a Toto fan and lean toward some of their louder rock pieces, then this disc is absolutely essential for your collection. Similar CDs

CD ReviewsGreat Stuff Michelle McGivern | Auckland, New Zealand | 11/17/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "What can I say! Steve is a great song writer and he sings and plays guitar with such soul. A perfect example is the song "Tears of my own Shame" the third track on the album which has got to be my favourite. It has a really smooth, "jimi hendrix" like guitar riff that is just really funky - I just can't stop listening to it.This song's "fav" status is closely followed by several others on the album like "You'd always be there for me" in which he experiments with playing other instruments (he's a multi talented guy) and "Blue bird" is cool too. This is different from his Toto stuff, musicians and guitarists alike will love this album :-)" Brilliant songwriter, superb guitarist - whats not to like HANS D HARMS | runaway bay, QLD Australia | 03/20/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "I was never a TOTO fan and despite some 700 or so guitar orientated cd's, I had never even looked at STEVE LUKATHER. My loss it seems as this is an awesome cd with excellent songs and some jaw dropping guitar work. Almost every song gets under your skin and the airguitar gets a heavy workout when dancing around the living room while singing the hook laden refrains. If you like POWER / POP / ROCK, this is a no brainer and is sure to please. I think this has far more substance than any TOTO release I've ever heard, which might be why some TOTO fans don't like this offering. It's their loss." LUUUUUUUUUKE! Love Ya Man, And I mean that baby! David Miles | Burbank, CA | 05/18/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Steve Lukather, or as his fans call him, Luke, is one of the greatest guitar players of all time, period. If you love guitar you owe it to yourself to get all of his solo albums as well as his work with Los Lobotomys and even El Grupo. This is a whole different thing than Toto. Toto is a great band as well, but that is his more commercial side. You should see him live to really appreciate his amazing talent, it is undeniable. Some of your favorite, well respected, bands have benefited from his guitar work as one of the biggest session guitar players of all time. As well as his guitar work, his voice is one of the best in rock."
