ANOTHER FINE COLLECTION FROM ROACH

"This album is subtitled, "The Lost Pieces - Volume Two"; and like Roach's other collections of "Lost Pieces" (Lost Pieces, Texture Maps - The Lost Pieces Vol. 3, and Places Beyond: The Lost Pieces 4), consists of pieces from 1987 through 1996. Five tracks of the ten were previously unreased; some pieces previously appeared on other editions (e.g., from the Spanish edition of Stormwarning); and others appeared only on multi-artist collections---it's good to have them all available.
This collection, although ranging over a long period of time, works much better as a whole "album" than Volume 1 did; it also includes the work of some exciting guest musicians, such as Suso Saiz's electric guitar.
The collection as a whole is a wonderful "ambient soundscape," rather than one of Roach's "tribal" or "electronic" excursions. The opening piece, "Aftermath" is particularly beautiful. This is a MUST for all Steve Roach fans.
