CD Reviews

Steve Vai Is America's Paramount Guitar Virtuoso !
Brien Comerford | Glenview, Illinois United States | 04/15/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"April 13 was a blessed day for guitar fans becuase Jeff Beck and Steve Vai released new CD's. "Where The Other Wild Things Are" captures Steve Vai flourishing live as he blends his profoundly exotic and otherworldy guitar talents on songs that are thunderous, spellbinding, inspiring, gentle and ethereal. The two great ethereal songs are the celestial and glorious "Whispering A Prayer" and the impeccably chills up your spine grandeur of "For The Love of God", which is arguably the greatest guitar song ever. Longtime fans will love to hear "Liberty" because it's such an addictive, expressive and endearing gem. Highlights abound on this Cd with the inclusion of the intense and riveting "The Murder" and the ear candy, edifying luster of "The Crying Machine."

The wondrous "Answers" from Steve Vai's indisputed greatest album "Passion And Warfare" is dynamically executed by Vai who has perpetually thrived as an optimal live entertainer and dazzling, fretboard master. I have seen this man perform live five times and he's been invariably mindlowing. His eastern mysticism, karmic beekeeping and innate, boundless ability have ascended him into being one of the five most iconic and dexterous rock guitarists in bona fide history. Like Jeff Beck, Steve Vai can play live for 90 astounding and captivating minutes witout vocals if he want's to. That being said, Vai is a also a proficient vocalist.

Steve Vai is so good- he's literally a freak of nature akin to being an axeman Godsend !"
An Utter Masterpiece

"This is a must have record! It's the perfect (even bigger) companion to part 1 "Where The Wild Things Are" and completes the package with the Blu Ray/DVD concert release. Only can the greatest produce such an awe inspiring performance and music for everyone to treasure in lifetimes to come. The cover artwork is top notch, vibrant and it feels like I'm still at the concert, the sound quality is amazing. Every musical arrangement on this CD is flawless! Thank you!!!"
Another amazing (live) recording by Steve Vai

"Five stars!! As always, Steve Vai delivers a recording of the highest caliber. Steve Vai is unbelievable. He does things on the guitar that other "greats" would never even imagine possible. This is a live recording, just to be clear. If you want to hear one of the absolute greatest guitar virtuosos in a live (untouched/unedited) setting then this is for you. You will not be disappointed. Steve Vai delivers!"
