Still I Rise, the third posthumous release of "new" material by Tupac Shakur, is not surprisingly a mixed bag. Recorded in 1996 with the Outlawz, the disc at its best does showcase the power of 'Pac. More politically acute... more » (and complexly anti-Clinton) than most gangsta rap even attempts to be, "Letter to the President" and "The Good Die Young" find the star turning in some of his most focused lyrics and performances. Elsewhere, he often cedes the mic to other voices; the collaborations that result--"Secretz of War," "Tattoo Tears," the title cut--are the equivalent of campfire songs for the latter-day black cowboy. Dominated by phat beats and familiar imagery, they entertain but hardly illuminate. --Rickey Wright« less

"EVEN IN THE NEW MILLENIUM 2PAC'S "STILL I RISE" IS A FURTHER EXAMPLE WHY HE IS THE GREATEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME. JUST WHEN PEOPLE BEGAN CALLING DMX AND JA-RULE NEW 2PAC'S, THIS ALBUM IS A VIVID DISPLAY OF WHY THEY DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE. THE LIVE INSTRUMENTS COUPLED WITH THE RAW VOCALS OF 2PAC AND THE OUTLAWS MAKE THIS CD AN INSTANT CLASSIC."
He will always be missed

"Tupac Shakur comes out with an album that makes me glad he left the kind of legacy behind that he did. Its a classic 2pac album, with songs you can dance too, songs that make you think, and songs that make you realize just how much the world lost when Tupac died."
If your a true Tupac fan this is a must have

"I am one of Tupac's many fans and just happen to think that if you don't get this CD there is something wrong. This is the best Tupac CD I have heard by far so pick this one up."

"I have been a 2 Pac fan since the beginning. His style just cannot be matched. I also like this album because it has a few positive messages, along with the hardcore side of it. #2 Still I Rise is just excellent. It speaks the truth. And there are so many people that go through these very things every single day, and they still rise to become something wonderful. There are also many other tracks that are just tight--lyrics, beat, etc. Go pick it up! You won't be disappointed. RIP Pac."
