"Schnee (Snow) is perhaps the most consistantly interesting of the duo's albums to-date. Their latest, "Igloo" is now available, and from what I've heard on their website (2 songs), it sounds just as strange and wonderful, if not more. These very high prices on Amazon don't add up, however. Their CD albums all appear to be available from one or two Swiss vendors linked through the Stimmhorn website, for 32 CHF or about $25 each. When I got my Stimmhorn CDs a few years ago, I ordered direct from Switzerland, just like with my Latvian CDs, I get them direct from Riga by post in 5-7 days. Amazing."

"There is a certain charm to authentic Swiss yodelling. When combined with alphorn and throat-singing however, you get a transcendant experience. Something about the way the sounds of the instrument and the sound of the voice (another instrument) blend together that is both chilling and hypnotic. Fans of early Dead Can Dance or The Cocteau Twins may be intrigued. While there are superficial similarities, however, this experience is altogether unique."

My most deeply absurd album

"This album will make you laugh out loud, especially because Stimmhorn is utterly, seriously committed to his absurd musical direction. By combining yodelling with harmonic overtones (often in the same phrase) and adding bizarre horns with yet more overtones, you'll find yourself laughing in disbelief.Beware, however, because you may find yourself suddenly in the middle of snow covered mountains, without a soul in sight. It can be transporting."
