"Growing up with The Beatles, a rock & roller had less to choose from by 1973, but that year produced 2 albums that I listened to repeatedly: The Hollies' "Romany" and this, Stories' "About Us". This is a melodic, beautiful, rocking delight from the mastermind of The Left Banke, Michael Brown, with no small help from vocalist Ian Lloyd, guitarist Steve Love, and drummer Brian Madey. "Brother Louie" may have been the radio hit from this, but the balance of the LP is not indicative of the sound of that No. 1 record. Stellar tracks abound, such as the haunting "Love is in Motion", with its gorgeous harmonies, "Hey France", which rocks like a 1964 Beatles track with John singing, and "Top of the City", another top-notch rocker. The production is outstanding on this LP as well, as it was recorded in England (and it shows). An LP to return to again and again."
One of the best, most overlooked albums ever!!!

"You have heard Brother Louie, it's a great song but so unlike Stories other excellent material that it's success killed the band! Very tuneful, well produced hard pop. I am a guitarist and have stolen so many great licks from this album! Ian Lloyd's voice is a bit hard to get used to, but he a a wonderful expressive singer. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of a couple of weak songs. When I play this CD for other musicians, they all are amazed that they never have heard it before. Well worth your time to listen!!!!!!!!!!!"
Brother Louie is classic...and so is the rest of the album.

"The early to mid-seventies was a unique time in rock music. It was a crossroads where fans of bands like The Beatles and Led Zepplin were getting into new sounds like Rush and Boston. Amazingly, The Stories incorperate sounds from each of these bands into 'About Us'. This album is a missing link in rock and should be heard by any music fan. The music is a bit outdated, but it is nothing short of legendary. It's comparable to a lost Beatles' album. A smart buy."
My favorite album of all time!!!

"My twin Brother and I grew up listening to this album over and over. It was our introduction to Rock & Roll. What an introduction it was! Ian LLoyd and company opened our eyes and rocked our world. I have been looking for this particular recording for a number of years and am glad that it still exists."
