If you were scoring a romantic dramedy directed by Rob Reiner and starring Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer as a couple looking over 15 years of marriage, would you not think of Eric Clapton? Of course you would. Rob Rei... more »ner did. His pithy liner notes explain just why Clapton's laid-back, fashionably impeccable take on the modern blues matched with his smoky, everyman voice makes for the perfect backdrop as wine glasses clink and romance hangs in the balance. The instrumental work is carefully fingerpicked (and often very brief--most tracks are less than a minute), but the most eventful moment remains the opening cut, "(I) Get Lost/Main Title." A live edit of "Wonderful Tonight" from 1991 is added as a bonus, although it doesn't appear in the film. Things are rounded off by several other contributors, most notably Teddy Wilson's "The Sheik of Araby" and the Andrew Sisters' "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree," which add a sense of old-time romance to the modern situation. --Rob O'Connor« less

I LOVED it. Others may not digest it so well however.

"Some people have really slammed this CD but I love it. Being a guitarist myself, I was hoping the soundtrack had the song snippets from the movie. And it does! If you're expecting radio formatted 3 to 5 minute singles, you'll be disappointed. But if you truly loved the simple, beautiful guitar arrangements Clapton did in the movie, you'll like this CD. The only other warning is there are only 3 different guitar arrangements repeated throughout the CD with subtle differences. I can see where this would turn a lot of people off. But I REALLY loved those 3 arrangements so I was happy to hear them repeated throughout the CD."
Beautiful Soundtrack

"This soundtrack is great! My girlfriend had it and she thought I would like it. Being a guitar player, I really appreciated this album. There are lots of great songs from the movie that sound some what like whats on Eric Clapton's unplugged CD. There are lots of other great songs too. Truely a CD you can pop in and listen the whole way through!"
