"Barry Tuckwell brings us a real gem with this recording of the horn music of RIchard Strauss. My favorite is the Introduction to the Final Scene of Capriccio, the longest non-concerto solo Strauss wrote for the horn, and a gorgeous example of his late style. The other pieces are mostly early works, but delightful for all that, particularly the song 'Alphorn' with soprano and piano. Definitely highly recommended!"
