Setzer, Phantom and Rocker (and their fave producer, Dave Edmunds) reunite for a rocking and winning disc. "Elvis On Velvet" is a big-beat barn-burner, Randy Bachman's "Can't Go Back to Memphis" has a low-tech ZZ Top feel, and the period covers ("Mystery Train," "Please Don't Touch") will entice purists. --Jeff Bateman

CD Reviews

ROCKABILLY & THEN SOME WITH MYSTIFYING HAUNT!
CLEAN | LONG ISLAND, NY | 01/18/2009

"Could easily be considered as the best Stray Cat work after "Built for Speed" album.

There is an element of "haunt" on the guitar work on many tracks, like "elvis on velvet" and the solo on "mystery train". Tremendously cool!! A lot of chops here on a diverse record. This seems to be a "lost" record. I was told the record company went bust, but it is a gem for Stray Cat fans. Pick it up if you can find it. You won't be dissapointed."
Choo Choo Hot Fish ROCKS

"Back in the day (92-93) I left this tape in my car tape player for at least 6 months and never tired of it. I listened to it while driving my kids back and forth to school and to this day my kids and I still love all the tunes. Brian Setzer displays serious guitar and vocal chops. The version of "Sleepwalk" on this CD is the best version ever recorded by anyone (including Danny Gatton) IMHO"
