"First off, Cheese is the best of the best and if you have never listened to them you need to, and you need to buy this album. With that being said, if you have never seen Cheese, you NEED to, thay are amazing live and this album comes the closest to reproducing the energy felt at a String Cheese concert.Ok, the first disc starts off with a great, may I add way funky version of Black and White. From there the first album gets great, with an awesome version of TMTT and straight into a cove of a Bela Fleck song, Lochs of Dread. From there, Cheese does an extended version of Water which is such a brilliantly performed song it is hard not to dance. Then they jump straight into the catchy bluegrass SOTOTW.The second disc starts off with a great version of a greater song, Joyful Sound. From there the rest of the disc is great, but it all builds up to Mouna Bowa. Ok, i have heard Mouna Bowa live, and on the carnival 99 disc, but this version is so great it deserves its own paragraph, seriously. The beginning of the song starts off with Travis on rippin it up on the bongos. For the first minute of the song it is impossible to guess which one it is because all that is heard is bongos. Then Kang starts teasing with his violin and Kyle starts the familiar beat of the song on the piano. The whole time you can feel the collective enrgy of the crowd and the band growing, and then Nershi begins to play the opening riff. The crowd goes crazy and the song begins. When it comes time for Moseley's Bass solo he does a completely different solo than on Carnival 99. The song is really the most amazing song I have ever heard, and it would be worth it to buy the 3 disc set just for this one song. I have played this song for many, many, people who like everything from punk to country, and they all agree on one thing, this song is amazing. And we still have another disc left. The last CD is a mix of new cheese and old cheese and it is great."
