"Better than I thought it would be. Already had all the CD's but the packaging on this thing is great. Cost of loving replicates the gatefold cover, inner sleeves included from original albums. Pricey but worth getting if you can't get over the fact that the council is gone."
Just wow!

"Item description does no justice to this wonderful boxset. This collection is really amazing. Every piece of text, artwork and labels of the original UK LP pressings comes in miniature. There are even two "bonus" covers for the american albums "Internationalists" and "My Ever Changing Moods" (with the inner sleeves, but no cds for these two). Even the kind of paper varies according to the original release.
Details:
- Introducing: red Polydor label.
- Café Bleu: custom "coffee" label, same as the A-side of original Lp. Includes the "Notes From Café Bleu" booklet and the famous blue inner sleeve.
- Our favourite shop: custom text label. Gatefold cover with glossy inner. Contains picture card and inner sleeve with pictures and lyrics.
- Home & Abroad: Custom white glossy label with picture. Includes inner picture sleeve.
- The Cost of Loving: Custom black picture label. Gatefold cover. Includes two inner picture sleeves (one for each Lp of the original release).
- Confessions: Custom white label. Inner sleeve that advertises three of the band's EPs ("The Birds and the B's", "Mick Talbot is Agent 88" and "Café Bleu EP") . Folded insert with pictures, drawings (one for each song) and lyrics.
- Modernism: red Polydor label.
- Greatest Hits: Gatefold cover. Two inner sleeves. This title is only available in mini-lp sleeve in this boxset.
- Here's Some That Got Away: since it wasn't originally released as an LP, this edition is pretty "basic". Includes the same booklet as the cd. The label is probably the same as the japanese Cd. This title is only available in mini-lp sleeve in this boxset.
- In Concert: same as the previous. Wasn't released as LP, so includes CD booklet, cd label. Only available as mini-lp in this boxset.
Note that all of the cds come with the "traditional" japanese text insert. For collectors, I think it's important to mention that there aren't individual obi-strips for the disc. There is just one on the box.
I know this review is kind of long, but I just wanted to write what I'd like to read before buying. I couldn't find this information anywhere. I intend to post some pictures soon, because these aren't available also and I know it will be very helpful."
Fantastic item for the collector

"I already owned each album on CD prior to purchasing this box set. The real reason for the purchase was to complete my collection. Songs are the same. What makes it unique is that these are part of a re-issue campaign that put the cd's in papersleeves to emulate their original formal as an lp for each album.
The only real downside is that it is very difficult to read any of the print inside of the ablums. If what you're looking for instead is to have lyrics to all of your favorite TSC albums, then I'd suggest you purchase the box set that was released in the mid-1990's. This is definitely a completists item.
And as a completist, it is a must have."
