"This is a great 10 track best of for Styx covering the best of their Wooden Nickel recordings, 1972-1974. If I were compiling a 10 song Wooden Nickel best of for Styx, it would look identical to this.



However, don't buy this unless you're on a budget. This is a great 10 song best of, but there is a better option: 'Best of Styx,' which features all 10 songs here plus 'Winner Take All.'



Overall, this is a great option for the budget minded Styx fan who wants to have their early years covered, but keep in mind that the 'Best of Styx' is ten times better.



Highly recommended, but only for the budget minded Styx fan. If you own the 'Best of Styx' (Wooden Nickel/RCA), don't buy it because you already have all of these songs!

The original Wooden Nickel "Best Of"

"This CD is a re-issue of the Wooden Nickel "Best of" release that was only on vinyl LP. It features all but one (Winner Take All) from that fine collection. As someone who loved the original (pre-Equinox) sound of Styx, this is music to my ears!"

"This truly is great cd with some great Styx songs but this pretty much is the same as Best Of Styx just without Winner Take All and that one of the better songs on it so yes its a 5 STAR album but they've had better."
