"First off let me say that I'm truely amazed that I have only heard of this release 3 months after it came out. Being a huge Sublime fan I'm usually on top of these things but this release seemed to have slipped between the crack. But I digress, onto the review. Here's the main sticking point of this release: If you're a big fan like I am and already have their 6 major releases (40oz. to Freedom, Robbin' the Hood, Sublime, Second Hand Smoke, Stand By Your Van, and Acoustic Bradley Nowell and Friends) there is nothing new here and while the tracks have been remastered there really isn't a great deal of difference between these and the origionals.
However if you are the other type of fan and are only familiar with the radio hits like What I Got and Santeria, then you should definitly check out this release. It features many great tracks from their first three albums plus one from their 4th release which was a rarities album. Chances are that if you've liked what you have heard before you will enjoy the tracks you haven't as well, and hopefully this music will turn you on to them and make you as big a fan of thier music as I am.
And as mentioned in an earlier review if you go to http://www.sublimearchive.com/home.php you will find a wealth of live and rare Sublime tracks for you downloading pleasure that are 100% free. And down worry, the remaining members of the Sublime family fully support this site and it is totally legal. also featured are many other great bands like Slightly Stoopid and The Ziggens which you should check out. Sublime forever!"
An honest review.

"Sublime Gold is sort of both for the old school fan's as well as new school. For people like me who bought the old records years ago and they are all beat up by now this is the record for you. 4 records all on 1 ok well 2 CD's. Also give or take a few good songs that for some reason are missing. The much added bonus is that everything is remastered. All the songs on this from 40.oz and Robbin sound just amazing. Self titled should have been left alone. Perhaps its me but the levels sound off. The track listing could have been more thought out. For people looking at this to get back into sublime or that hear the singles on the radio this is the CD to get as you get those songs as well as all the greats that make this still one of the biggest underground bands to this day. There are still some killer Sublime fans out there and many of the songs on this comp. is the reason why. Waste no time in picking this up. New or Old to sublime there is something for everyone."

"This is a two-disc set and it has their best known songs and others.
I love it! I never get tired of it, and the jacket has a quick biography of the band members, so you learn while you listen."
Most comprehensive sublime comp I've ever seen.

"I've seen all sorts of greatest hits comps for sublime (well actually 2 or 3) and they were all pretty poorly compiled. This one however has 44 tracks which is 34 more than either of the other two and the song selection is much better too. Sure a few of my favorites are missing but that's always going to be the case. Besides I have all their albums so there is no need for me to buy this but if you don't have their cds and want to check them out this is a really good set to start with. The best I've ever seen in fact. And for the guy who was bummed because it's so hard to find unreleased sublime stuff go to http://www.sublimearchive.com/audio-sublime.php
It's completely legit and is run by friends or the remaining members I think."

"Everything Sublime in one place. I like the fact that I can listen to all the Sublime I want while driving without changing cd's.
The reasons I love Sublime music are much more complex than that. I'm not even a stoner anymore! I just love the rhythms and the wide mix of styles. I was introduced to Sublime by my then teen son, who may or may not have been smoking two joints in the morning, night and afternoon, it has not been positively proven.
My favorite song is hard to tell, because there are so many different styles of music here. For pure listening pleasure I like 'Pawn shop'. Bass riffs and a rhythm and blues beat. I love 'Jailhouse' too. At the time I first heard this music, it was "date rape" that my son played for me. I had to admit that this was a positive message song, as well as being terribly funny. I really do love all of the songs on this cd set. There aren't any that I skip over to get to the next song. I admit you can finally have your fill after a few days of exclusive Sublime listening, but hey, nobody else but the Beatles can last for that long in the player before a change.
A great beat and fun to dance to, I give it a 98.
Peace and love to Sublime fans everywhere and most especially to the Bradley Nowell family."
